Local Dogs: Spot

Spot - otherwise known as His Lordship - belongs to our friend and neighbour Mrs Masterson, to whom he is utterly devoted.

'The Terrible Pest. I'll be doing away with him!' Annie Masterson cries out every time Spot greets me with too much entousiasm. He knows the sound of the car and does not bark anymore when I drive up to the doorway. Now I have to bang the door to try to get myself heard over the noise of the Soaps. The Masterson's dogs used to be work dogs: herding sheep mostly. The were good dogs with sweet temperaments, but they were never allowed in the house. After Pat Masterson died however Annie took a little dog, Mo. That was the beginning of the era of the Pets, or as she calls them Pests. When Mo died Annie was devastated. She was moping around the village, However her grandsons David and Johnny got her little Spot as a Christmas present and all was well again.
Merry Christmas Spotty!
