Sea Monster
The spider crab is the largest of its sort in Ireland. Its carapace grows up
to six inches (15 cms) while its leg span can reach twenty inches
or 50 cms. But that's nothing compared to the Japanese spider crab
that, claw to claw, measures a mighty twelve foot or 3.8 metres!

Polranny Studio
Artist and recent guest Brigitte Rio chose the room above the porch as her
studio during her residency in Polranny. A great choice because
it has excellent views of the surrounding countryside. More of
her work and other activities here are included on her blog:

A Changing Landscape
A 1974 view from the house in Polranny. Of course, much has changed
since then. There are more houses, more foliage and trees and
donkeys are rarely seen. But it's still very beautiful...

Then and Now
Dutch photographer Con Mönnich has returned to the house in Polranny after 42 long years!
His photo on the left is of our neighbour Mrs. Masterson and her family back in the day. The one on the right is of Mrs. M today, a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and the absolute matriarch of the clan!
